How does Donnate Work?

When listing items on Donnate, donors are required to choose one or more nonprofits. When buyers purchase an item, they select one nonprofit from the list and make the payment directly to that nonprofit. After the payment, we send a pick-up code to the buyer to collect the item from the donor. When the item has been picked up, the donation is done!

Donnate membership application process can be completed very easily. You will only need a few minutes provided you have a few basic details at hand.

If you don't have a payment account, you will create one as part of this application process. If someone else is managing current payment account, verify that that person is able to reply emails about Donnate application.

When listing items on Donnate, donors are required to choose one or more nonprofits. When buyers purchase an item, they select one nonprofit from the list and make the payment directly to that nonprofit. After the payment, we send a pick-up code to the buyer to collect the item from the donor. When the item has been picked up, the donation is done!
If the buyer cancels the order after payment, 10% of the payment is donated to the nonprofit, and the remaining 90% is refunded to the buyer. The donation cannot be less than $1 or more than $49. Buyers should not purchase items on Donnate if they don't want to make a donation in case of a cancellation or return.
Donnate is built exclusively for making donations, so partial donations are not available. However, instead of making a partial donation, you can separate the items you would like to donate and list them on Donnate.
On Donnate, there is only local pickup option. The buyer receives a pickup code after the purchase, and with this code, the buyer can pick up the item from the donor.
The buyer can request a return within 24 hours after the item has been picked up, but it is up to the donor to accept it or not. If the donor accepts the return, buyer has to bring the item back to the donor and provide the return code. After the return has been accepted, 10% of the payment is donated to the nonprofit, and the remaining 90% is refunded to the buyer. The donation cannot be less than $1 or more than $49. ​ ​
Donnate is free for nonprofits; we do not charge any platform fees on donations. The only deduction on donations is made by payment processors that we and nonprofits work with. We rely on the support of our users to cover our expenses. You can support us by choosing Donnate when you list your items, or by buying a Donnate subscription plan. We will send you an invoice for your contribution.
